Cat Art Commissions

Personalize my paintings with a fun cat art commission inspired by one of your feline family or cat companions. Could be a great gift item, or just a whimsical way to immortalize the cats that you've shared so many special moments (one of which could be the inspiration for your artwork).

IMPORTANT: While I will do my best to depict a likeness of your cat in my art style, I do not paint realistic pet portraits. My paintings are essentially stylized cartoons based upon the images and descriptions you provide. Think of it like having a Simpsons character of yourself made. It'll have some of your features but ultimately you'll look more like a Simpsons character than a picture of you. Same thing here. I'm creating a depiction of your cat in the style of my Art Cats.

How to Commission a Custom Cat Artwork

Commissioning an artwork is fairly straight forward. Use my contact form to let me know you're interested in a custom artwork commission.

I'll email you back and ask you to email me a few photos of your feline friend that clearly show important details like eye color, fur markings, accessories (e.g. collar), and any other important physical traits I should know. Write two or three sentences (minimum) describing their personality, what they are most known for doing, and anything else that could give me a sense of who your cat is and what they're about.

Finally if you have any specific ideas for what you would like depicted in the artwork. For example, if your cat is fascinated by fish, you might suggest an image of them watching a fish in a pond.

Once I have all that, I'll come back with three rough sketch concepts for you to review. You may suggest changes to any or all of these sketches, until we agree upon a final sketch concept for me to move forward and paint. See my Design Agreement for full information on the design process stage.

Before commencing the final painting I will invoice you for 50% of the commission. This is to pay for my time and materials thus far and to show your financial commitment to the agreed upon concept.

I don't do color roughs however I will discuss with you any thoughts on the overall color scheme I have or you'd like to see e.g. warm colors, a focus on a specific color, a night scene etc.

Once the artwork is complete, you may have some limited opportunity to make minor changes to small details. Please raise any issues and I'll let you know if they're possible.

The artwork will be sent to you once I have invoiced and received the remaining amount owed plus all shipping costs.
